I really think that the first one is interesting for a portrait. I like that the subject is far a way and that we can see what she is doing. I would maybe crop it so that the the subject is more off center. The last one is really nice too, the contrast is great.
Each of these images are well done - of these three, I think your first is the strongest. If you can get more contrast in the face of the second, especially some more lights and highlights in, that would bring more depth to the photo. The contrast in the third one is nice, and I like the streaks of light on the ground.
the first one is my absolute favorite! the sunlight and the shadows work wonderfully together. it looks like a dream. the second one maybe you could make a little sharper, but then again i like the feathered look, so maybe just mess with it a little..or maybe you could find a way to put more contrast on her face, or crop it so only half of her face is showing? the third one is again beautiful, she looks very deep in thought and the contrast is very nice :)
i love the difference in depth in your pictures. the second one looks a little blurry, it might have a greater effect if it was sharp. the shadows from the trees make a very interesting composition and contrast your subject nicely.
I like the composition of the first image.... I feel like a little bit of contrast might help to add interest.
I think the second image looks very smooth. Her skin looks very porcelain.
I like the third image the best because I feel that the contrast in this image is very nice, and that you have great tonal range. And its interesting because it makes the viewer want to know what she is looking at.
lighting in all images seems to work well. the second image uses good diffuse/glow-like lighting and the crop is good in emphasizing her sincere expression. i agree that the first image needs more contrast to highlight the shadows and light areas. i think the third image works as a portrait, but the other two seem to evoke more emotion or interest. the third one would be a good pose/image for a senior portrait.
The 2nd photo is most striking to me. It almost has a dream like quality, like one of those photographs from the 60s where the edges are blurred out. I really like the style.
The first photo has nice lighting and the shadows from the trees make a nice pattern. Maybe change the contrast a little more?
The last one turned out well too. The lighting is amazing along with the shadows from the trees. And I like the contrast with the white shirt your sister is wearing. It kind of reminds me of a senior portrait.
I really like how the trees are backlit in the first portrait. It's also interesting that you don't see the person walking by the trees until you really look at it.
The way the second picture is cropped is really nice because it catches your eye and you don't feel as much of a stranger to the girl as you would in a full-body shot.
I like the last picture because the sharp, clear quality of foreground, middleground and background give you plenty to look at. It's also interesting that the subject is placed slightly off center at the bottom of the portrait.
I like the second a lot. At first I sort of passed it by, but when I really looked at it I started to see it on a more emotional level. I think that her expression really brings out something interesting. I didn't notice that there was a person in the first one until I remembered it was meant to be a portrait and looked for the subject. I like the idea, but it doesn't really tell me much about the person (maybe because I just can't see her very well on my screen). The third one looks really posed but I like the way the background looks.
I think the first one is really good. If possible click the first one again a little underexposed. Th 3 one is also good, it would be better if it was from an eye angle.
They all look great! I think its really interesting how you can just hardly see her in the first image where she's walking along the trees. I also love the lighting in that one. I really like what you did in the second image how you zoomed in really close to her face it feels like she's looking you right in the eye.

ReplyDeleteFirst photo maybe needs more contrast. Nice soft tone on the second one (lovely face by the way!), maybe could also use some contrast.

ReplyDeleteFirst photo…I love that you can only really make out the line of the roof on Munn…it kind of leads you to the subject
ReplyDeleteSecond…I feel like this is an homage Audrey Hepburn (good thing)
Third: Great posturing of the body…that's really hard to consistently nail down
