Black and White Photography

Part one: In the first picture of the flower petals I wanted the image to be bright yet have a soft effect. My image is about uniqness. Each flower petals has its own uniqueness and I wanted to capture them all. to create this image I zoomed in really close to the flower petals. My goal was to show the quality of the petals. Many photographers try to capture the fine details of small objects. In the puzzle piece image i wanted to capture the highlights of the each puzzle piece. The image is about diversity. I took the picture at a different angle to get the symmetry assymetrical effect. I wanted to frame around the butterfly because the butterfly was the main focus I was capturing. My image is about individuality. The content of the butterfly being alone on the petal describe individuality. The process I used was taking a picture of the butterfly by itself zooming in on this particular item. My goal for creating all images was to zoom in on a small object and view its fine detail and have that be the main focus. My work is similar to other artists work because a lot of photographers capture small objects in there work and try to capture all of the details you can not see. Its more about social issues because its a topic that is popular in society -uniquness, creativity and indivisualism.
Part two: I really enjoyed this project taking pictures in black and white using contrasting, shutter speed and apenture. in this picture of the butterfly i contrasted most of the back ground to get the butterfly up close and personal. I zoomed the lenses close to the butterfly, but was far from the plant that it was placed on to get a close view of the butterfly. I did the same proximty effect to both the puzzle pieces and the plant on top. The puzzle piece was the only image out of the four that I cropped. I did this to even out the tones of the blacks, grays and whites in the portrait. The plant on top I put in a lot of brightness and contrasting to soften the portrait and to highlight the plants. All of the pictures are in landscape orientation because to get more quality and background into the portrait. In creating all three images I am hopong to convey individuality, space and uniqness. We all can be diferrent wether big or small, shapeness, etc. But we are all unique and creative in different ways. I believe all the images deal with diversity and connectivity. How we all connect somehow. Viewers will view this iamge as indivudauality and how we all connect somehow because of our uniqueneess. Based on the images I believe that the idea of indivuality is conveyd. I am very interested in completing a series of photographs of diversity, connectivity and indivuality.
